FinishesOur chairs are finished with 2 coats of milk paint (from various suppliers and also utilizing our own custom blends) and are given coat of oil to seal the paint and give it a beautiful sheen. Milk paints are used because they most closely emulate the colors and textures of the lead based paints used on the early Windsors. For our 19th century chairs we use oil paints and glazes for the wood graining and are then hand stenciled using bronzing powders.

| Finishes for 19th Century Windsors: | ||
| Bronze Powder Stenciling: Using bronzing powders, and hand cut stencils, we recreate the look and feel of the original 19th century Windsors. Each stencil we use is completely hand cut by our staff to match common designs found on Windsors of the time. This is a standard option found -ONLY- on our 19th century Windsors. |
Grain Painting: Grain painting, along with Bronze Powder stenciling, is another standard option found only on our 19th century Windsors. Each chair is painted with several different oil paints to create the illusion of different woods, from tiger maple to mahogany. |
